Odds Calculator: Convert Odds and Calculate Payout

This betting odds calculator converts American moneyline, decimal and fractional odds and calculates a straight bet’s total payout and net winnings. Enter the price and stake; only displayed figures are rounded.

Spreads and totals are not odds

The number in a point spread (−3.5) or total (over 45.5) is a line, not a price. Enter the odds offered for that line, such as −110.

Three ways to write the same odds

The same price can be written three ways. American odds are standard at US sportsbooks, decimal odds in Europe and Canada, and fractional odds in the UK and in horse racing.

Moneyline calculator: positive and negative American odds

Positive American odds show the profit on a $100 bet: +150 wins $150, which is decimal 1 + 150/100 = 2.50. Negative odds show what you must bet to win $100: −200 is 1 + 100/200 = 1.50. Both +100 and −100 equal decimal 2.00; the calculator always shows +100.

Decimal odds

Decimal odds are the total return per dollar staked. 2.50 means a $100 bet returns $250, of which $150 is profit. Payout = stake × decimal odds.

Fractional odds

Fractional odds show the profit relative to the stake. 3/2 means $3 profit for every $2 staked, which is decimal 1 + 3/2 = 2.50. “20 to 1” is 20/1 and equals decimal 21 – not 20.

Run line, spread and over/under payouts

For a baseball run line, football spread or over/under total, calculate the payout from the attached betting price, not from the handicap number. A $110 bet at −110 returns $210 if it wins: $100 profit plus the $110 stake. The −1.5 run line or over 47.5 total determines whether it wins, not the payout multiplier.

A losing straight bet returns $0. A conventional full push returns the stake and makes $0 profit, subject to the operator’s rules. The tool above displays the winning payout; it does not predict scores, set a fair spread or convert a point spread into a win probability. Quarter-line split settlements need separate calculations for each half.

20 to 1, 35 to 1 and other fractional payouts

Enter 20/1 in Fractional mode: with a $10 stake the profit is $200 and total payout is $210. At 35/1 the same stake pays $360 ($350 profit); at 80/1 it pays $810 ($800 profit). “2.0 to 1” means 2/1, which is decimal 3.00 and pays $30 from $10. Decimal 2.00 instead pays $20.

A horse-racing fixed win price uses the same formula. Tote odds can change before settlement, and place, show, exacta and trifecta payouts come from separate pools. Use the horse racing bet payout calculator for a published dividend. For several legs on one ticket, use the parlay odds calculator.

How to calculate a straight-bet payout

Payout = stake × decimal odds

Profit = stake × (decimal odds − 1)

Implied probability = 100 ÷ decimal odds

The implied probability includes the sportsbook's vig. To convert several prices or combine probabilities, use the implied probability calculator; to strip the vig from a whole market, use the no-vig calculator.
