Betting Units Calculator: Units to Dollars
Define what one betting unit means for your own figures, then convert between units and dollars. The percentage is your input, not a recommended stake.

What is a betting unit?
A unit is a chosen reference amount. Expressing a stake as two units says little about the dollars involved until the unit size is defined. This calculator uses one unit = reference bankroll × chosen percentage ÷ 100; dollar stake ÷ unit size gives the number of units.
A $1,000 reference bankroll at 1% gives a $10 unit, so 2.5 units is $25. If the reference amount changes to $800 and the percentage stays 1%, a recalculated unit becomes $8. A fixed-dollar approach would keep it at $10 instead. Be consistent about which convention you record.
Reporting results in units
Net dollars divided by the same reference unit size gives units won or lost. A $20 profit with a $10 unit is +2 units; a $30 loss is −3 units. Total returned stakes are not profit. If the unit definition changes mid-period, dollar totals and the dates of the changes are needed for a fair comparison.
Calculate a ticket’s net result with the bet winnings calculator before converting it to units. No stakes are saved and no bankroll account is connected.
Units do not remove risk
A unit system is bookkeeping, not evidence of an advantage. It cannot turn negative expected value into positive value, prevent losing streaks or decide an affordable amount for you. The default values only demonstrate the arithmetic. Zero or negative reference amounts are rejected because they do not define a usable conversion.
Compare records only when the unit definition matches
Ten units won means $100 when one unit is $10, but $500 when one unit is $50. Neither number describes the amount risked along the way. To compare records, use net profit divided by total stake for return on stake, and disclose whether the unit amount changed.
For example, $40 net on $800 total stakes is a 5% return on stake. With a constant $20 reference unit that profit is +2 units. Those are two views of the same record, not a recommended stake size. This converter does not choose a “safe” percentage or project a future bankroll.
